Hey, hey, hey!
Today’s post is somewhat short and sweet and it’s all about what my blog name actually means.
So let’s get straight to it…
As you know the name is “Spoonful of Scouse” and really, it’s just a simple play on words.
Scouse is not only the name of the accent which comes from Liverpool but it’s also a dish which others might call “stew”. Usually it’s eaten with a spoon, hence why I use the word “spoonful”.
In 2012 I developed a mystery illness which I’d later learn was a chronic illness called Gastroparesis. People with a chronic illness are often referred to as spoonies and therefore by putting a little bit of myself out there on the world wide web, I’m giving a “spoonful” of me, a scouser so a “spoonful of scouse”.
In future posts, particularly in August as that is Gastroparesis Awareness Month, I will be talking more about my condition, what it is and how it affects people who have it.
So there you have it, the meaning behind my blog name.
With love & laughter,
Hayley @ Spoonful of Scouse,
