This blog post is going to be a fun one, I’ve been itching to write it since Sunday night when I climbed into bed absolutely finished after the amount of shimmying I’d done at LIMF.
“What is LIMF?” I hear you all ask.
Well, LIMF stands for Liverpool International Music Festival and it’s an amazing festival that takes place in Sefton Park up here in Liverpool (if you’d not guessed from the name). It used to be the Matthew Street festival, but that all ended five years ago now and that’s when LIMF was born.
The four-day festival is completely free, but you can now upgrade and live life as a VIP for just £13.20 a day which isn’t much at all if you think about it!
AND if that’s not enough, it’s not just one stage either. Oh no, despite being completely free, LIMF has four stages (plus a bandstand stage) with more events happening in The Palm House. It also has a fair and LOADS of stands selling food from all over the world, drinks (alcoholic and soft drinks) and this year even saw a Pimm’s teapot. There are also stalls with campaigns such as TYRED – a campaign very close to my heart which I’ll speak about in another blog post soon, because it’s so important and deserves to be front and centre, but in the meantime follow the link and have a look for yourselves – and there’s also the rest of the park itself which is gorgeous to go exploring in.
Each year LIMF hosts over 100 artists and they’re all absolutely amazing and this year was no different. The photo below shows just a few of the unreal acts, and believe me, there were, even more, people who aren’t listed that were amazing such as my fabulous friend Neil Noa (Davies).
I’d honestly recommend LIMF so much, it’s back again next year and if you can go, do it!
My friends and I are going to try and go VIP, so if you’re there next year, cya soon.
Did you go this year?
Who was your favourite act?
Let me know in the comments and I’ll leave you with a few photos of this years event…
With love & laughter,
